Checklist of Low-cost/No-cost Ways to Use
These Ads, Outreach and Educational Materials

There are many free or low-cost ways to use the downloadable materials on this site. Most are designed to be user-friendly "quick-study" resources based on a growing body of academic research and other evidence about unwanted abortions, unethical professional practices and post-abortion grief, injury and maternal deaths.

Use these materials to help educate the general public as well as more targeted audiences.

Review the list below for "quick-start" ideas and supporting resources to quickly get others up to speed on this issue or to support your own education and outreach efforts.

Ideas and Resources. Small Steps, Big Results.

  1. Small ads, bookmarks, business-card messages, clip art, postcards & flyers.
Any of these simple but powerful black-and-white or one-color materials can be placed i
n bulletins or other free or affordable local publications. Consider print or online publications by schools, churches, professional groups, civic clubs, etc., targeted to people of all ages and interests. Many can be used as an ad or a printed card to distribute in person, by mail or online.

For added leverage, get pro-woman/pro-life products, including bumper stickers, buttons, signs, T-shirts, hats, totes and apparel, etc. from our Message Shop to wear to events or anytime or place. These are great ways to start or update a conversation. Keep message
cards on hand in case someone asks about the issue or the topic comes up otherwise. Especially if you're wearing or displaying The UnChoice message. This visibility gives you a chance to educate people on all "sides" about new evidence of unwanted abortions and related abuses, injuries and aftereffects.

  2. Free Radio Ads (can be run as free Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
Use any of the four "The UnChoice" radio ads. Or, run them as paid ads during popular programs for even better results.

  3. Portraits of Coercion, a simple but poignant flyer with stories plus new  facts about unwanted abortions that's a great introductory piece for any individual or group new to the issue of coerced abortions and post-abortion heartbreak.

  4. Multi-Tasking Ads, Fact Sheet and Flyers can be used in print or online or as handouts and flyers at fairs, events, on-line groups, etc. See Mix and Match menu for items well suited for multi-tasking.

  5. Forced Abortion in America Report (See Also Fact Sheet and Flyer Versions) Share these stories and statistics with leaders, including local pastors, journalists, educators, youth groups, and other leaders. Share them on social media, too.

  6. Plan an Event -- Schedule a Speaker, Show a Video or DVD at your church or civic group; include handouts. (See also Mix & Match menu.)

  7. Text-only ads are ideal for announcements in small local publications, newsletters, classifieds, etc. You can also use the text as a post on social media or other sites. Find short but focused messages about coercion and other risks endangering both babies and moms on our Small Space Ads & Clip Art page.

  8. Educate Leaders of Civic or Religious Groups with our ads and flyers, info kits, etc.

  9. Plan a fundraiser to raise money to fund a local "UnChoice" Ad campaign, or donate to support our work.

  10. Join forces with other individuals or groups, including church or civic groups, businesses or other volunteers, to multiply your impact and help reach out to teens and women close to home. (See also: Co-op Ads, which feature space to put the name or logo of individual or corporate sponsors. Learn more:)

  11. Co-op ads - ask a local group, business or organization to sponsor ads or a full campaign with their logo or "sponsored by" message. Co-op ad feature a small space where you can put a customized message or the logo of a group or corporate sponsor.

  12. Promote "TheUnChoice" message in public via pro-woman/pro-life bumper stickers, mugs, buttons, signs, apparel and other products. The buttons are a good conversation starter! Have business-card-sized messages or postcards on hand to share when people ask what it means.

  13. Schedule a meeting at your church or civic group and give a brief talk.
Use basic introductory "big picture" educational pieces as an outline, overview or introduction to this issue; e.g.:
    * "What Every American Needs to Know" (postcard or flyer) as an outline or introduction to this issue. (Hand out the cards and this or other flyers or have them available on a table.)
    * Other helpful tools include playing the TV ads or radio ads as a way to lead into the topic. Or,
    * Make a simple PowerPoint presentation or DVD using the key messages on this site, again

    Other helpful resources:

    * Pop Quiz - A good ice breaker! Give away buttons for top 5 scores.
    * Top 10 Reasons it's The UnChoice
    * Portraits of Coercion flyer with facts
    * Forced Abortion in America flyer
    * Forced Abortion in America Report and Forced Abortion in America fact sheet
    * Business Card or Postcard Sized Handouts featuring new evidence about unwanted abortions, plus TheUnChoice.com web address where people can learn more, find help or get involved.

    Special focus issues:

    1) widespread coercion
    2) forced abortion in America
    3) teens at risk
    4) suicide risk,
    5) hard cases/new answers
    6) men (ideal for men's church or civic groups, retreats, etc.)
    7) hope/healing

  14. Keep information current and handy for yourself or to share with leaders. Create custom Information Kits for easy reference, using printouts or online folders or tabbed binders. Sample themes include: general/introductory kit, youth groups/education, healing/outreach, political/advocacy projects, pastors' kit, etc. Check the Information Kit page to learn more.

  15. Run The UnChoice TV spots as free Public Service Announcements (PSAs), or low-cost ads on low-cost local or cable networks

  16. Provide resources and kits to educators, librarians and students. Encourage students and educators to use materials in class speeches, essays, etc. If you're an educator, incorporate these resources into lesson plans. Consider inviting someone from a local pregnancy resource or post-abortion counseling ministry to talk to your class. Or, ask students to volunteer to share their time, treasure and talents with these ministries.

  17. Inform pastors about widespread unwanted abortions. Use our letter to pastors as a guide and put it in your own words. Ask them to educate parishioners about widespread coercion, unwanted or forced abortions, pregnancy-related abuse and exploitation, and post-abortion healing. Provide Portraits of Coercion as a simple introduction to the issue of unwanted abortions and a unifying way to talk about post-abortion hope & healing. Encourage them to participate in Coerced Abortion Awareness Week.

  18. Get your church involved in our Church Awareness Project during Coerced Abortion Awareness Week in April and year-round.

  19. Write a letter to the editor. Use these templates as a guide and write in your own words. Tie into timely events by checking our PR Calendar.

  20. Write a letter to political leaders ... tell them about widespread coerced or unwanted abortions and other ways that abortion endangers the rights and lives of both the unborn and women - especially teens and women in vulnerable situations. Tell them that women are dying, too, before or after abortion. Share What Every American Needs to Know postcards and flyers, and other political education and outreach materials.
